RA Position - Psychosocial Intervention Study

RA 50% Position Autumn Quarter 2011

Work as part of a research team to carry out a psychosocial intervention study for community-dwelling individuals with depression following a stroke. The primary tasks of the research assistant will include subject screening, recruitment and enrolment, tracking, follow-up, and data collection and entry

Roles and Responsibilities of the RA include:
  • Maintain a dependable work schedule.
  • Strong organizational skills and able to implement protocols as written.
  • Course record-keeping.
  • Able to work daytime and evening hours when needed to carry out screening and follow-up.
Qualifications:
  • Must be Nursing Graduate Student in good standing.
  • Medical-surgical nursing experience.
  • Experience with the care of individuals following stroke desired.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial research process desired.
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in scheduling and carrying out duties.

Teaching Assistant - NURS 401

TA 50% Position Winter Quarter 2012

A Teaching Assistant is needed to provide support for NURS 401: Care in Illness I. This course is core content in the undergraduate curriculum emphasizing nursing care of acute and chronic health conditions, particularly including in-patient care. NURS401 Instructor: Dr. Karen Thomas, Department of Family and Child Nursing.

Roles and Responsibilities of the TA include:
  • Working with the instructor to provide assistance and support with class and course materials.
  • Attending most lectures (Mon 8:30-11:20, Wed 9:30-11:20).
  • Conducting individual & small group help sessions with students.
  • Transporting exams to Office of Educational Assessment.
Qualifications:
  • Must be Nursing Graduate Student in good standing.
  • Current nursing licensure in State of Washington.
  • Experienced in medical-surgical and/or pediatric acute care nursing.
  • Recent clinical experience in acute care nursing.
  • Teaching experience preferred.
