The Asian Immigrant Workers Project in the Department of Psychosocial and Community Health, School of Nursing is currently hiring part-time, hourly Research Assistants (RAs) for participation in a federally funded study of private and public agency interconnectedness for Chinese immigrant worker health.
Major Responsibilities:
- Obtain permission from the directors of the identified agencies or organizations in King County for recruitment
- Recruit participants and obtain informed consent
- Prepare study materials (e.g., printing, assembling materials, creating documents in Traditional Chinese)
- Set up appointments with participants; conduct structured interviews
- Attend project training and regular team meetings
- Some evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate study participants’ schedules
- RA will travel locally and should have reliable transportation and are able to drive to the sites. Partial reimbursement for mileage traveled to recruitment and data collection sites
Required Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Fluent in verbal and written English and Chinese (Mandarin) languages
- Proficient in web-based technology and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), including
- Flexible to work variable work schedule ability to type Traditional Chinese
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, effective time management skills, high attention to detail, and great accountability
- Competence implementing and adhering to research protocols
Desired Qualifications:
- Proficient in other Chinese dialects, such as Cantonese, Taiwanese or Toisanese
- Experience with research involving interviewing study participants
- Training in Human Subjects
- Experience with SPSS, UCINET, and Endnote
