Teaching Assistant Position
25% FTE
Fall Quarter 2012
A Teaching Assistant is needed to provide support for NURS 415: Childbearing and Childrearing Course. This course is core content in the undergraduate curriculum emphasizing nursing care of acute and chronic health conditions, particularly including in-patient care. Nurs 415 Instructors: Dr. Pam Jordan, Barbara Plovie, and Anne Kalkbrenner, Department of Family and Child Nursing.
Roles and Responsibilities of the TA include:
- Working with the instructors to provide assistance and support with class and course materials
- Attending lectures (Tuesday 10:30 am to 4:30 pm)
- Assist with course content as requested
- Assisting in individual & small group help sessions with students
- Facilitating discussions and monitoring discussion groups
- Managing and responding to course related email as requested
- Transporting exams to Office of Educational Assessment
- Assist with review sessions
- Managing storage and access to examinations
- Attending instructor/TA meetings
- Proctoring exams, including make-up sessions
- Requesting necessary equipment
- Assist with setting up and returning classroom A-V equipment
