Teaching Assistant Position

50% FTE

NURS 201 Growth and Development Across the Lifespan

This course focuses on processes of human growth and development from prenatal life to old age. Emphasizes influence of biological, socio-economic, and cultural factors on growth and development, and how awareness of growth and development theory and research can help guide health promotional efforts directed towards persons of various ages and life styles. Class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays, 2:30 – 4:50 pm. Faculty: Dr. Stephen Padgett.

Roles and Responsibilities of the TA include:

  • Posting and updating course materials on the web
  • Assist in preparation of course materials and present course content when appropriate
  • Assist in keeping track of student assignments, attendance and other matters related to administrative tasks
  • Assist in grading papers or tests and assist by helping students as necessary with course work and assignments
  • Attend classroom sessions and seminars
  • Identification and evaluation of AV educational material, obtaining equipment when necessary
  • Duplication and distribution of educational material
  • Coordinate presentations by guest lecturers, including scheduling, arranging parking, follow-up thank you letters
  • Other duties as assigned when needed
